It works in a number of fields including reporting and monitoring human rights abuses by country as well as thematically. It produces briefings, research papers and books on human rights issues. It also takes on casework and lobbies for policy change at the local, national, regional and international level.

Events Assistant Intern

Duration: May 2017 to August 2017

IHRC is looking for an intern to assist with a couple of exciting upcoming events: Al Quds Day and the Islamophobia Awards. This is a unique opportunity to boost your CV, get insight and discover and develop new skills, and gain marketing and communications experience in the charity and events sector.

IHRC holds children’s events, author evenings and film screenings regularly as well as the annual Al Quds Day, Islamophobia Awards and the Islamophobia conference. Our events are a key element of our organisation in fundraising, promoting justice and unity and joining communities together.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with volunteer recruitment
  • Assist with everyday planning of two upcoming major annual events
  • Support in contacting various organisations and companies
  • Seeking sponsorship opportunities

Essential:

  • Good communication skills

  • Willing and able to follow reasonable instruction

This is a 4 month internship. We expect the intern to commit to 2 days a week. Travel expenses within £10 will be reimbursed.
