Islamic Human Rights Commission
—————————————————–

In this edition we have a series of alerts outlining the human rights situations in Palestine, Pakistan, China, Yemen, Sudan, Bahrain, Nigeria, Sudan, UK, and the US. We also have an announcement alert declaring the presence of IHRC on the Twitter. IHRC Chair Massoud Shadjareh, in a reaction to the newly released terror arrest conviction rate, states: “A mere 13% success rate … is an indication of heavy-handed policing, which has become instrumental to the alienation and criminalisation of the Muslim community….” You can read this and more in the press release section. The release of ‘Aftermath’ and ‘Towards a New Liberation Theology’, both newly published reports by the IHRC research department, is highlighted in the reports section. You would also find a briefing by our campaigns department on some of CST’s recent publications. The events section features ‘Old & New Forms of Racism – The Case of Islamophobia’ a parallel event to the Durban Review Conference, organised by IHRC in Geneva, Switzerland. Egypt’s continued denial of entry to medics and humanitarian workers is the theme of the leading story in the articles section. Plus, ‘Israel admits Tube advert map ‘mistake” is amongst many other items in the articles section.
