Chair of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, Massoud Shadjareh said:

“There is no justification for threats to and murder of the innocent, as were evidenced in tonight's broadcasts.

“I do not know what I am more angry at – a young man being misguided like this to believe that in Islam the end justifies the means - or a government in denial that uses spin to blame everyone and everything except its own policies for our increasing insecurity.\"
