Asad Ahmad is the first Muslim newsreader and one of the very few Asians
in the media. He is currently a presenter and reporter on Reporting
Scotland, Newsnight Scotland and Radio Scotland\’s Newsdrive programme.
He has worked extensively as the BBC\’s Scotland Correspondent and
regularly presents BBC Breakfast News in London and the news on
Breakfast with Frost. Asad has worked as a reporter in London for the
national news.

Afif Safieh is a prominent figure in the Palestinian/Arab community and
has been extremely active in peace relations with regards to the
Palestinian conflict. Between 1978 and 1981, he was a staff member in
President Arafat\’s office in Beirut, in charge of European Affairs and
UN institutions. Afif has been involved between November-December 1988
in the Stockholm negotiations that led to the official and direct
American-Palestinian dialogue. Since September 1990, he is has been the
Palestinian General Delegate to the United Kingdom. In January 1995, he
was invited to join the International Board of Trustees of Bethlehem
University, the Vatican-sponsored University in Palestine.

Reedah Nijabat El-Saie, the founder and CEO of ArRum, originally
envisioned the concept of ArRum in 1998. Reedah graduated in Law from
the London School of Economics and read an LLM at University College
London before qualifying as a member of the Right Honourable Society of
Lincoln\’s Inn. Having spent several years as a management consultant,
Reedah decided to pursue her vision of ArRum.

The dress code is black tie, elegant and modest so feel free to air your

helping to raise money for Palestine – it\’s sure to be an uplifting
