PRESS RELEASE: UK – IHRC Welcomes the decision to downgrade the terror alert level
Islamic Human Rights Commission welcomes the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) decision to downgrade the terror alert level.  This news follows the decision by Hampshire Police department to suspend section 44 Stop and Search and is reflective of the change in attitude in recent times.
IHRC hopes that the reduction of the terror alert level will allow a move away from the politics of fear and prejudice into a fair and full review of the terror laws.
IHRC Chair Massoud Shadjareh states:
“IHRC welcomes this decision and calls for a full review of anti-terror laws that would revive the civil liberties for all and cease creating suspect communities under the pretext of security”
