Find him on Twitter @stolac92. \nAbout the Book:\nEvery Day and Every Land: Poems on the Tragedy of Karbala brings together three very different poets\, united in their retelling of this seismic event in the history of Islam and Muslims. These events have spawned vast literatures including and especially poetry across many languages. Writing directly in English\, the poets also connect the events of 7th century Arabia with the events of the world today.\nThis volume is a contribution to the developing English canon.\nAll three write in English and bring traditional and modern styles to the topic. There is a style here\, for everyone.\nZainab Kazim\, uses traditional rhyme schemes to bring epic vistas vividly to life.\nNarjis Khan\, brings a modern take on traditional forms\, connecting current world injustices with the epic of Karbala.\nArzu Merali’s free verse links current oppressions with the universal message of struggle found in the story of Ashura \nYou can purchase a copy of the book here. \nFor any enquiries\, please contact events@ihrc.org

SUMMARY:Book Launch with Sayyid Amjad Hussain: The Deeper Link
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exclusive book launch with Sayyid Amjad Hussain to discuss his new book\, The Deeper Link: Reclaiming our Love for the Ahl al-Bayt. \nPurchase The Deeper Link \nWHEN: Thursday\, 24 September\, 6.30pm BST\nWHERE: IHRC Bookshop (202 Preston Road\, Wembley\, HA9 8PA) \nFree event.\nRefreshments provided.\nParking is available on surrounding residential roads; please check for any restrictions. \nFor any enquiries\, please contact events@ihrc.org. \nAbout the author: \nSayyid Amjad Hussain is a lifelong student of Islam\, devoted to the love of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ\, the Ahl al-Bayt\, and the spiritual heritage of Sunni Islam. His writing calls for a return to sincerity\, humility\, adab\, and love as the foundations of nearness to Allah. \nAbout the book: \nFor most of Islamic history\, love for the family of the Prophet ﷺ was simply part of being a Sunni Muslim. Yet somewhere along the way\, many came to feel that loving the Ahl al-Bayt too deeply was a step toward another tradition\, something to admire from a careful distance. \nThe Deeper Link recovers what was always there: that to love the Prophet ﷺ is to love the family he loved most. Drawing on the Quran\, the Sunnah\, and over fourteen centuries of classical scholarship\, it sets out the evidence clearly\, comprehensively\, and on its own terms\, showing how each affirms the significance of love for the Prophet’s ﷺ household\, from Sayyidah Fatimah and Sayyiduna Ali to al-Hasan\, al-Husayn\, and the generations who carried their light. \nReverence for the Ahl al-Bayt\, it shows\, is neither borrowed nor sectarian\, but the Sunni inheritance itself\, a sign of sincere devotion to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. \nA book for every Muslim who has wondered where they stand in relation to the family the Prophet ﷺ loved most. \nWe look forward to welcoming you as we mark the occasion and introduce this work to readers. \n  \nIHRC Trust operates on a 100% donations policy. Every single penny donated to us is used strictly for charitable efforts. For more information\, visit the IHRC donation page.
