IHRC back on-line

The Islamic Human Rights Commission has been experiencing some technical difficulties with both its website and email lists over the last two months. This has been due in part to the ever expanding numbers being added to the list, and the increasing volume of material being added to the website. We would like to thank all our supporters for persevering with the problems.

We hope that these difficulties have now been largely overcome. Our website contains our latest alerts and updates (which can be read on the front-page or on the alerts page) at www.ihrc.org. Recent news includes new campaigns on:

the invasion of the mosque in the UK by British police to deport asylum seekers;

media monitoring information and alerts on biased BBC reportage regarding Palestine.

There are also updates on other campaigns including:

the release of illegally held detainees in Sudan;

and the progress on the fraudulent labelling of illegal settlement goods.

A search engine will shortly be available on the website, and the archives continue to be updated. IHRC reports can be downloaded from the reports page and briefings and articles can be read on-line. If you experience any difficulties please email us info@ihrc.org.

The Articles section contains articles of general interest regarding human rights and justice, and includes written material as well as links to audio interviews and lectures by IHRC officers and advisors. Recent articles include:

Detained in Egypt and ignored here by Faisal Bodi

They hate women don’t they? By Arzu Merali

America, Israel & the Durban Conference Against Racism. A lecture by Massoud Shadjareh

The Muslim Response to Globalisation. A Lecture by Saied Reza Ameli

Our new email list will keep supporters up-to-date on the release of new reports, campaigns, project progress reports, events and urgent alerts. If you wish to unsubscribe from this list (or have been subscribed more than once) please email us at list@ihrc.org.

Please do not hesitate to forward emails of others who would be interested in joining the list.

Our thanks once more for your patience.
