The recent massacre by Israeli soldiers of Palestinian civilians protesting their dispossession on the 70th anniversary of the Nakba (Catastrophe) in the Gaza Strip has highlightedagain the true nature of Israeli occupation.

Supporters of justice everywhere need to take a stand, however small, against the murderous Israeli regime which sees ordinary Palestinian men, women and children as target practice for their snipers.

We urge you to take the following steps immediately to support the oppressed Palestinians.

1. Boycott Israeli goods and any companies that does business with or inside the state of Israel. A list of such companies is available online here

2.  Boycott Israeli dates. Israel is  one of the world’s largest exporters of dates. The UK is Israel’s 3rd largest market. Some 60% of the world’s Medjool dates are produced in Israel
Most of them are grown on illegal settlement plantations in the Jordan Valley. If you buy a Medjool date, there’s a strong possibility that it is from an illegal settlement – grown on stolen land. Do not buy any Medjool dates from the region unless they are from trusted Palestinian sources.

3. In the last few years Zionists have started to implement an insidious strategy to build ties with the Muslim community in Britain in order to normalise Zionism and the brutal illegal occupation of Palestine. This cosying up to mosques and Muslim groups is nothing more than a deceitful attempt to normalise the continuing murder, maiming and dispossession of the Palestinian people by using vehicles like inter-faith work. In fact, the Zionists themselves do not hide this fact. Rabbi Natan Levy, an interfaith officer at the Board of Jewish Deputies, which is a mouthpiece for Israel, has described inter-faith work as an effective way to change opinions about Israel. In this article dated 12 August 2016, he praised the low profile inter faith work done by rabbis with United Reform Church ministers to overturn the Church’s boycott of Israeli goods and people. Do not allow your mosque or Islamic centre or organisation to allow Zionist to come in and normalise Zionism and diminish the crimes of Israel. Expose their agenda to one and all. Challenge their support for a violent regime that oppresses the women and children of Palestine. If you are uncomfortable doing this please feel free to contact us.

4. Urge your local councillor and MP to take an appropriate stance against Zionism and the state of Israel. Write to them and highlight the atrocities that Israel is carrying out daily against the Palestinians. Urge them to speak out on behalf of Palestinian rights and to challenge those in parliament who support the violence Israel inflicts on Palestinian civilians
