The Rise of Islamophobia in Britain

The War on Terror, unleashed in 2001, has led to the mass killing of 100,000s of innocent Muslims abroad. But at the same time, it has created the conditions for the discrimination and victimisation of Muslims at home.

As part of Islamophobia Awareness Month, SOAS Islamic Society & SOAS Stop the War are hosting a discussion on the rise of Islamophobia in Britain and what we can do to resist it. Join us!

Speakers include:

Dr. AbdoolKarim Vakil – Academic, King’s College London
Ms. Arzu Merali – Co-Founder Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC)
Mr. Azad Ali – Head of Community Development & Engagement, iEngage
Chair: Aaron Kiely – NUS Natl. Black Students’ Officer
