Demand the UK change its course on the genocide in Gaza and the wider wars in West Asia, including now, against Iran.

Summary
The UK government bears immense responsibility for Israeli genocidal crimes in Gaza, and latest escalation of violence to yet another country, this time Iran. UK campaigners can write to the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, demanding he end the country’s shameful support for these wars.
Background
IHRC has written to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer demanding he change the government’s course on Israeli crimes in Gaza, Iran and across West Asia. You can read the full letter here.
In the letter, IHRC calls on the Prime Minister to ends the government’s complicity in Israel crimes in Gaza and elsewhere, and heed the advice that joining or supporting any military action against Iran goes against international law.
The letter states:
“Not only have you failed to properly condemn the genocide but you have deployed British military assets, namely our intelligence gathering services, to assist Israel in prosecuting it. Along with your abject knee-flexing to the Israeli government, it has made you a willing accomplice in crimes against humanity.
“The consequences of this policy of appeasement and assistance are not confined to Gaza. It has emboldened Israel to attack its neighbours in the knowledge that the collective West will always have its back. Lebanon and Syria are a case in point where despite a ceasefire and change of government, illegal Israeli military activity continues unchecked.
“Intoxicated by the hubris of its military might, Israel has now turned its attention to a new target, Iran. Under the false pretext of Tehran’s alleged nuclear weapons programme, Israel has once again cocked a snook to international law and human rights by attacking Iran. But instead of condemning the aggression and sanctioning the perpetrator, the West is once again lining up to punish the victim.”
It ends:
“Your record in office has already been stained by the blood of children that our armed forces have contributed to slaughtering in Gaza. You should be in no doubt that if you now commit British forces to the Israeli war against Iran, history will remember you as it did your Labour predecessor Tony Blair: a butcher and a war criminal.”
Requested Action
IHRC asks campaigners to write to the British Prime Minister demanding that he change the government’s course on the genocide perpetrated by the Israelis in Gaza, and their escalated violence across the region, including now in Iran.

Dear Prime Minister,
Re: Escalation of Israeli crimes in West Asia
I write to demand that you and your government change course on its stance on West Asia.
Despite the violence perpetrated by the Israelis in Gaza, you have failed to properly condemn the genocide, and you have deployed British military assets i.e. our intelligence gathering services, to assist Israel in prosecuting it. This has made you a willing accomplice in crimes against humanity.
Your appeasement and assistance has also emboldened Israel to attack others, namely Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and now Iran.
The Attorney General, has reportedly warned you that joining the war on Iran is illegal. I urge you to take his advice. Not doing so would mean that you would be placing Britain outside international law. Your government should heed the lessons of its involvement in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
It is not too late to change course.
Yours sincerely,
