BOOK HERE

WHEN: Saturday, 21 November, 2026
WHERE: IHRC Bookshop (202 Preston Road, London, HA9 8PA)
WHO’s INVITED: children 6+ and for parents who love reading aloud to their children.

About the book:

In these six heart-warming stories, Maryam is joined by her friends, Zak and Saif. Together, they play dress up and pretend to be their favourite heroes – from superheroes and historical heroes to modern-day heroes from different languages and cultures.

Join Maryam for another shopping trip, only to be stopped in her tracks by web spinner Saif. Does she escape? The playful shujaas, Zak and Saif, are about to disrupt Mama’s prayer. Can Maryam stop them? The alps won’t leave Sammy the cat alone. Maryam warns them, but it’s too late. The batals are having a fabulous time playing in the rain, but soon it’s time for prayer. Do they have their wudu? Our herojs visit a care home, where they must learn to be quiet, caring and respectful, especially with Uncle Habib. And at bedtime, kahraman Maryam forgets to read her bedtime duas. What’s that lurking in the shadows?

Each relatable story ends with a question prompt for the reader, followed by an Islamic reminder – encouraging young readers to think, reflect and learn along the way.
