About the author:
Sayyid Amjad Hussain is a lifelong student of Islam, devoted to the love of the Prophet Muhammad ï·º, the Ahl al-Bayt, and the spiritual heritage of Sunni Islam. His writing calls for a return to sincerity, humility, adab, and love as the foundations of nearness to Allah.

For most of Islamic history, love for the family of the Prophet ï·º was simply part of being a Sunni Muslim. Yet somewhere along the way, many came to feel that loving the Ahl al-Bayt too deeply was a step toward another tradition, something to admire from a careful distance.
