About the event:
What can zines tell us about life inside prison, resistance to incarceration and the power of the written word?
Join artist and writer Hamja Ahsan as he chairs and speaks on a panel exploring prisoner zines as tools for expression, solidarity and resistance. Featuring speakers from the Free Satpal Ram campaign, Prisoner Fightback and others, the discussion will explore how independent publishing can amplify prisoners’ voices, challenge dominant narratives and build connections beyond prison walls.
Bringing together campaigners and voices from prisoner solidarity movements, the panel invites audiences to consider the role of zines in documenting lived experiences, challenging injustice and sustaining collective action.
Come along to listen, question and take part in a discussion about publishing, imprisonment and solidarity.
