On Saturday 15 September IHRC Bookshop hosted a children’s story telling afternoon. We welcomed children up to the age of 12. There was a brilliant turn out of parents and children who attended the event and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.

A selection of stories were told and read by Zainab Zahra who brought each book to life by interacting with the children. The children enjoyed the stories as well as having a chance to answer questions relating to the various books and events in them. Not only did the children listen but had a chance to choose a book they wanted to read. Each child that attended was given the opportunity to read: some chose a poem others short stories. Our collection of books include: Hilmy the Hippo seies, My Mum is a Wonder, In the Prophet’s Garden and many more exciting and popular titles for all age groups.

To end the afternoon the children were given the chance to make up a story together which they entitled ‘The Blessings of Allah SWT’ which made a wonderful end to the lovely afternoon. We also had a selection of refreshments including delicious cupcakes, sweets and of course fruit which were enjoyed not only by the children but by the adults too.

Long term supporters and new supporters attended – we would like to thank everyone who came and hope to see more of you in our future events. Join our mailing list to keep up to date with our events and campaigns.
