APPEAL
Israeli army using Palestinian children as human shields
26 April, 2004

The picture (can be seen at http://www.palestinemonitor.org/index.html )
of 13 year-old Mohammed Badwan tied to a jeep as a human shield during a
demonstration in the village of Biddu should further emphasize to the
world the despicable immorality of the Israeli army\’s attitude to
Palestinian life.

This is a crime. Paletinian children are dying in droves yet the Israeli
army continues to maintain that it never targets children in its actions
across the Occupied Territories. This despite the 688 child deaths
recorded since the beginning of the intifada and the consistent policy
of bombing residential areas.

We ask you to protest in the strongest possible terms to the Israeli
government and United Nations at this criminal practice of using
Palestinian children as human shields. We urge you to contact the
addresses below to register your complaint at these flagrant human
rights abuses.
