Award-winning British journalist Yvonne Ridley is the political editor of Islam Channel television and a New York newspaper columnist. She was propelled into the headlines globally in September 2001 when she was captured by the Taliban after sneaking into the country on an undercover assignment for her newspaper the Sunday Express. The experience dramatically changed her life turning her from an investigative journalist into a peace campaigner, anti-war and political activist. She then went on to further confound her critics when she reverted to Islam.
