2. New anti-war material at www.ihrc.org

(i) ‘What our Prime Minister John Howard did NOT tell us’ is the text of a speech delivered by Bilal Cleland, of the Islamic Council of Victoria (and an advisor to IHRC) to the Coburg Peace Rally in Australia last week.

Its contents are highly informative and are a useful tool for anyone advocating an anti-war stance. It can be read on-line:

(ii) Update on letter writing campaign to Tony Blair MP.

Whilst this campaign like all others has not deterred the British government from its immoral course of action, IHRC can at least confirm that its distribution of its latest campaign letter has been phenomenal. Some 40,000 letters were taken by protestors at the ‘Stop the War’ march last month, and subsequent request number in the region of 20,000.

It is important for campaigners who have put so much effort into this work not be disheartened for Allah subhana wa ta ala is the best planner.

3. Miscellaneous materials at www.ihrc.org

Further campaign and awareness raising materials are available on-line. Regarding Palestine, two of the papers presented at the recent ‘Al-Quds – City of Three Monotheistic Faiths’ conference held in London, UK are available on IHRC’s articles page to read or download.

Dr. Anthony McRoy’s article ‘THE STATUS AND CONDITION OF ISRAELI ARABS’ details the discrimination and violence suffered by those Palestinians living inside the borders of Israel. It can be read at:

Dr. Saied Reza Ameli, an IHRC founder, presented a paper entitled ‘Palestine as a Millennium Dome: Globalization, Exceptionalism, Americanism, Zionism and Palestinization of the World’. This paper discusses the possibilities of the Al-Aqsa intifada translating as the universal symbol of the fight against oppression. It also details the similarities between American and Zionist exceptionalism. It can be read at:

The papers by IHRC’s Massoud Shadjareh and Sultana Tafadar will shortly also be available on-line.

Various articles relating to the so-called anti-terrorist operation in the UK have been posted on the site. These cite IHRC’s response to events.

Articles from the BBC, the Guardian and other media dealing with the recent equation by the Metropolitan Police Service of Eid Al-Adha and terrorism. These articles contain various comments from IHRC protesting the equation.

Other articles deal with the raid on Finsbury Park Mosque and the role of the charity commission in banning prayers for Palestine in some British mosques.
