Resham Collective is a name rooted in rich cultural symbolism. “Resham” derived from the sanskrit word “resam” meaning silk, evokes softness, elegance, and beauty yet it is one of the strongest natural fibres. Resham, like poetry and storytelling, feels elegant and beautiful to the ear, mind and heart, but beneath such beauty lies immense strength in its message. This duality of softness and power is at the heart of Resham Collective.

At Resham Collective, we aim to weave together diverse voices and stories much like the threads of silk, creating a community that is both beautiful and strong. Our collective represents not only a community of people but also diverse forms of creative expression from poetry nights, workshops, book clubs and exhibitions.

Together we create a space where elegance meets resilience, and where every story, like a thread of silk weaves strength to the fabric of our collective voice.

Please note that by signing up for this event, you will be added to IHRC’s Children’s Events mailing list for communications about the event as well as upcoming children’s events. There will be photos and videos taken on the day, but we will edit and blur out faces.

Tickets are non-refundable. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your tickets as soon as conveniently possible. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, preventing you from attending. Your prompt action in cancelling your tickets allows us to accommodate other families, but also demonstrates respect for the time and effort invested by the author.
