The Islamic Human Rights Commission is to hold a one day conference in conjunction with NEDA in order to provoke debate on a variety of anti-Zionist perspectives.

The conference is being facilitated to provide an opportunity for peoples of many different confessional backgrounds and none to listen to and interrogate some of the ideas of academics and activists who have opposed Zionism and come from Jewish backgrounds.

The speakers form a diverse range and include renowned academics and rabbis.

Jeffrey Blankfort, San Francisco
Rabbi Ahron Cohen, Manchester
Stanley Cohen, New York
Dr Uri Davis, Sakhnin
Les Levidow, London
John Rose, London
Roland Rance, London
Professor Yakov Rabkin, Montreal
Michael Warschawski, Jerusalem
Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, New York

This event will provide an interesting and informative angle on a controversial issue that lies at the heart of the Palestinian conflict.

IHRC Chair Massoud Shadjareh said: We hope this conference will provide a useful insight on the anti-Zionist point of view, as well as open up optimistic and fruitful debate.

The conference is being supported by a number of organisations, including: Crescent International, Friends of Al-Aqsa, Innovative Minds, Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought, Islam Channel, Justice for Palestine Committee, Muslim Association of Britain, Muslim Directory, Muslim Weekly, Neturei Karta, Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign and The 1990 Trust.
