The Islamic Human Rights Commission is honoured to present
the
‘PRISONERS OF FAITH’ SPEAKERS’ TOUR
From October – December 2002
It has been estimated that there are approximately 250,000 Muslim prisoners of faith around the world today held for no other reason than their faith. It is all too easy to forget about these prisoners of faith, who can be subjected to the most extreme and brutal forms of torture. The purpose of this tour is to raise awareness of the plight of these people whom the world refuses to acknowledge, and to encourage people to take up their struggle.
“And what reason have you that you should not fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men, women and children (of) those who say: Our Lord! Cause us to go forth from this town, whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us from Thee a helper.” (Qur’an 4:75)
