Islamic Human Rights Commission
—————————————————–

10 July 2009

This edition consists of a series of alerts highlighting the human rights situation in China’s Xinjiang province. There also is an alert asking campaigners to write letters of support to Imam Jamil after his release from “the hole”. The highlight of the press release section is the abandonment of the light rail project by Veolia connecting illegal Israeli settlements to Jerusalem. There is also a press release condemning the climate of Islamophobia which has resulted in the demise of Marwa Al Sherbini. Under the briefings section you can read IHRC’s two part response to the CST’s document ‘The Islamic Human Rights Commission and CST’ by Dave Rich. “The universal theology of Liberation: Views from Muslim history” is an upcoming seminar organised by the Islamic Human Rights Commission. You can look under the events section for more details on the event.
