1.       Intro

IHRC’s highly successful event ‘Is Islamophobia a Form of Racism?’ with Professor Ramon Grosfoguel is now available to watch on-line (see the links below).  This and a summary of public work undertaken by IHRC in the last week or so, follows.  We have been working on various issues including vigils and letter writing for Palestine, campaigns for Bahrain and many more. 

This week saw the fourth anniversary of the Israeli regime’s assault on Gaza called Operation Cast Lead.  We have provided links to two of our reports on this issue from the archives.
Sadly we cannot cover many issues, but with your continued support and donation we can start to address more in what are increasingly austere times.

ACTION ALERT: BAHRAIN – Call for release of Human Rights defender Nabeel Rajab

IHRC expresses deep concern over the Court of Appeal’s decision to pass a two-year prison sentence on the President of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), Mr. Nabeel Rajab, for his human rights campaigns and exercise of peaceful freedom of expression. Take action below –


Action Alert: – Protest against G4S complicity in the torture of Palestinian children

IHRC urged campaigners and activists to protest against G4S for their provision of expertise and security systems to Israeli prisons, and their complicity in the detention and torture of Palestinian children.

Event Report – ‘Is Islamophobia a form of Racism?’ – Ramón Grosfoguel

On the 11th of December, Professor Ramón Grosfoguel was at IHRC and gave two presentations on Islamophobia entitled “The Roots of Islamophobia,” and “Is Islamophobia a form of Racism?  From the History of Al-Andalus to Fanon’s Zone of Being and Non-Being.”
