1. What you can do for Palestine this Ramadan

(i) BOYCOTT THE COMPANIES THAT SUPPORT ISRAELI APARTHEID, flyer available to download

This Ramadan, Innovative Minds and the Islamic Human Rights Commission have launched a \”Ramadan Boycott For Justice\” campaign.

Please help us by launching your own Boycott Israel and its supporters drive in your local mosque or community this Ramadan. Provided below is a leaflet showing which companies to boycott. Please download it and distribute copies in your community, community centre and .

(ii) Join in the Annual Al-Quds Day March, Sunday, November 23, 2003

The Justice for Palestine Committee is once more organizing the annual Al-Quds Day march in London, UK. This march takes place every year to support the oppressed Palestinians and protest the increasing Israeli aggression against them. Coaches will be arranged from various UK cities so please call the IHRC office to find out more details on 020 8904 4222 or quds@ihrc.org. This year participants should gather at Hyde Park (nearest tube station Marble Arch) at 12 noon to march at 1p.m. to Trafalgar Square where there will be a short rally at approximately 2.30 p.m.

(iii) Campaign Letter against British government\’s support for Israel

A new campaign letter to be sent to the British Foreign Secretary demanding a just stance be taken by the British government.

(v) Campaign to Free Sheikh Obeid and Mustafa Dirani

Sheikh Obeid and Mustafa Dirani were kidnapped by the Israeli Defense Force in 1989 and 1993 respectively, from their homes in Lebanon. Please help continue to campaign for their release.

2. Other IHRC campaigns
(i) Please also support IHRC’s research and campaign project on Muslim women in Europe. This campaign aims to research the levels of discrimination faced by Muslim women, in particular those who dress Islamically. Please take ten minutes to download a copy of the questionnaire and return to us either via email or post (see addresses below). Please also urge your friends and family to fill in a copy. Questionnaires can be submitted ANONYMOUSLY and all information is kept strictly confidential.

Muslim women outside Europe are also welcome to complete the questionnaire, although these will not be used in the Europe research project, but kept for monitoring purposes.

(ii) Sign up to ‘Charter 3:103 – A Call for Muslim Unity’

IHRC is administering the long running campaign Charter 3:103 that calls on Muslims to unite and fight against sectarianism, nationalism and racism within Muslim communities. The Charter takes its name from the Qur’anic verse that calls on Muslims to unite. Please sign up to the Charter and get your local Muslim organizations, friends, and family to do so also.

(iii) Distribute the IHRC Annual newsletter and the ‘Know Your Rights’ leaflets part 1 & 2
