1.       Intro

This past week at IHRC has seen a focus on news coming in from Kashmir.  As the siege continues, we have some recommended action points, as well as background information on Kashmir and the Afzal Guru case.    Don’t forget to join the campaign for Palestinian prisoners.  If you live in on near London, UK please join the vigil to protest the BBC’s poor coverage of the hunger strikes.  You can also join the letter-writing campaign.

Action Alert: India/Kashmir – Demand an end to the siege of Kashmir

Write letters and emails to the Foreign Minister and MPs of your country urging them to condemn the unlawful executions in Kashmir and to pressure their Indian counterparts to immediately and unconditionally end the siege of Kashmir which has now lasted four-days.

Action Alert: Palestine/Israel – Protest BBC blackout on reporting plight of Palestinian Hunger Strikers

Join the vigil and / or letter-writing campaign.

Poetry Workshop for Teenagers with Ibrahim Sincere

The IHRC Bookshop is holding a poetry workshop with the poet Ibrahim Sincere for teenagers aged 11 – 15 years.  The workshop will begin with the poet giving an introduction to poetry and performing some of his own works. Then the participants will have the opportunity to write their own poems and perform them to everyone.
