(a) Vigil outside the French embassy

IHRC and the International Islamic Women’s Organisation are holding a vigil outside the French embassy on Sunday 11th January 2004 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Venue: The French Embassy, 58 Knightsbridge Road, London, SW1X 7JT
Sunday 11th January 2004
Time 1 – 3pm.

Nearest Tube Station: Knightsbridge Station

Coaches from Manchester, Birmingham and other UK cities are being arranged. Please contact IHRC on 020 8904 4222 or info@ihrc.org for more details.

(c) Questionnaire on anti-Muslim women discrimination

IHRC has been campaigning against hijab bans world-wide for the last seven years. Last summer it launched a Europe specific project to monitor the harassment and discrimination faced by Muslim women.

Please take ten minutes to fill in this questionnaire. It is currently available in English at:

(d) Reporting cases

IHRC continues to monitor cases of hijab discrimination and deal with them as best as possible. Please report any incidents of discrimination or harassment you may have faced.

(b) Islamic Solidarity March to and Protest outside the French Embassy on Saturday 17th January 2004. Assembly point Marble Arch at 11.30 a.m. Coaches are being arranged from all major cities. Please contact Hizb utTahrir, campaign@1924.org or 0870 881 5132.
(c) Another picket is also being organised outside the French Embassy on 17th January 2004 by MAB and the Muslim Women Society. Please contact the Muslim Association of Britain info@mabonline.net for more information.
