PRESS RELEASE

Murder of Aid Worker More Evidence of Israeli Regime’s Inhumanity
Thousands to March in London in Annual Protest at Israeli Aggression

The annual march against Israeli oppression this year adds total condemnation of the murder of British UNWRA worker Ian Hook to its agenda.

The catalogue of Israeli crimes continues unabated and the Justice for Palestine Committee calls on civil society organisations, activists for justice and individuals of conscience to add their voice of loud condemnation to that of the committee.

The annual Al-Quds Day march is a Muslim led initiative open to all and takes place in many cities around the world. Notable previous processions include the 1999 procession in Zaria, Nigeria where a million people attended the peaceful march. Nigerian police opened fire on protestors and killed several.

The march is a show of solidarity for all the oppressed of the world regardless of their racial, confessional or political backgrounds and takes the struggle of the Palestinians as its symbol.

The London march will take its usual route from Hyde Park (Marble Arch) to Trafalgar Square on 1st December 2002. For further information, please contact the Islamic Human Rights Commission on (+44) 20 8902 0888 or email us on quds@ihrc.org.
