Citizens International has written to UK Prime Minister David Cameron to express its concern over the invitation extended to Egyptian dictator Abdel Fatah al-Sisi for talks in the UK.
Citizens International believes that Sisi and a number of other senior Egyptian officials are guilty of crimes against humanity and that he should he be arrested and prosecuted were he to ever to set foot in the UK. Their crimes include the massacre of protesters in Egypt in July and August 2013
The latest Amnesty International report on Egypt states that two years after the army ousted President Mohamed Morsi, “Egypt has regressed into a state of all-out repression”. There is a definite climate of fear that has led to the detainment of journalists and the harassment of those who express dissent.
David Cameron is urged to cancel the invitation and work with the United Nations in order to help free the Egyptian people from the clutches of Sisi’s tyrannical dictatorship.
