Press Release: IHRC statement in response to Andy Hayman’s Comments

In response to Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Andy Hayman’s
comments today, IHRC Chair Massoud Shadjareh stated:

“The policy of stop and search without reason or suspicion has only lead
to racial/religious profiling which has alienated entire communities.”

“Now that even Britain’s most senior anti-terror police officers are
publicly recognising the inherent flaws of this policy, IHRC repeats its
call for the repeal of section 44 stop and search and other elements of
the anti-terror laws.”
