PRESS RELEASE: UK Event – Annual pro-Palestine March and Rally in London, 21 August
Date: 21st August 2011 (Sunday)
Time: 2.00pm – 6.00pm
Venue: Portland Place (near BBC Radio just off Duchess Street) from 2pm to Trafalgar Square for rally
The annual Al-Quds Day march and rally is once again the focus of far-right attack. The march has been targeted over the last few years by far-right groups joined with some Zionist and Iranian opposition groups.
The march, organised and supported by a diverse number of groups, uses the struggle for justice in Palestine as a reminder of all struggles for justice.
Massoud Shadjareh, the chair of IHRC, said:
“This year, as in years past, we are seeing a broad range of people come together to stand shoulder to shoulder with the oppressed men, women and children of Palestine.
”We will not be cowed by any fascist, racist or supremacist group. This is a peaceful event and the truth of the cause is manifest.”
