Al Quds march is back after a two-year hiatus due to covid. While it will be fantastic to see you all on Sunday 24 April, We are less enthusiastic about seeing the Zionists and far-right coalition that turn up every year. In previous years we saw one Zionist activist threaten to shoot pro-Palestine activists, whilst others were seen screaming at women and children that they were murders, terrorists and paedophiles.

Every year we see a coalition of Zionists and far-right extremists join together to abuse our attendees. Pro-Israel newspapers set the tone by demonising our attendees: this year the bar was set when one outlet used the racist and dehumanising term “virus” to describe our attendees. We are unsurprised by this level of racism given the vile rhetoric Palestinians endure from Israeli politicians,

It is crucial that we do not allow these racists and apologists for apartheid to scare us into silence. We urge people to attend al-Quds day to show their solidarity with the Palestinians.

On the day please remain vigilant, remain safe, but most of all let us collectively stand up to Zionism.

We would like to issue the following security guidance to all attendees:

  • If possible travel to and from the event with friends/family. Being in a group will give you greater security.
  • If you are using public transport: Please arrive using Westminster station (Jubilee line, Circle line, District line). Walk through Parliament Square onto Abingdon Street. Turn right onto Great Peter Street and then left onto Marsham Street. The Home Office building will be on your left-hand side.
  • Please leave using Westminster station (Jubilee line, Circle line, District line). Our stewards will direct you toward the station.
  • If you are coming from outside London, please follow the instructions from your group leader about pickup points/logistics.
  • If you see anything suspicious, please report to it a police officer, steward (orange bibs) or security officer (light blue bibs).
  • If you are able to do so safely, please film the Zionist and fascist counter-demonstrators when they are shouting racist abuse. Please share this with IHRC.
  • If they use physical violence, move away and alert a police officer, steward (orange bibs) or security officer (light blue bibs).
  • Do not engage with the fascist counter-demonstrators as they will be violent and abusive.

Please stay safe and contact us if you have any questions about the event at info@ihrc.org or 020 8904 4222.
