Necessary Readings on the War on Terror

This pack of 3 includes comprehensive review of the practices in various nations regarding the so-called terrorist threat and double standards, a play highlighting the impact on women caught up in these practices, and a comprehensive essay on the need for ‘Western’ elites to construct a narrative of the terrorist to self-identify.

Bought separately these titles cost £24.99.  This pack is being sold at over 30% off at £16.99

The titles in this pack are:

Rules of the Game by Asim Qureshi
256 pages

In the aftermath of the suicide bombings on London’s transport infrastructure in July 2005, the then Prime Minister Tony Blair said that ‘the rules of the game have changed’. He referred to how his government planned to respond to the attacks, but few people at the time anticipated that counter-terrorism would become synonymous with circumventing time-honoured concepts such as the rule of law. It is associated now with words such as profiling, incommunicado detention, rendition and torture the world over.

The Meaning of Waiting by Victoria Britain
61 pages

Eight women tell their stories using their own words stories of the unseen fallout of the war on terror in Britain. These are stories of real women, from cultures as varied as Palestine, Senegal , Jordan, Libya, St John’s Wood, and the English Midlands.

Necessary terrorists/ Yusef J Progler
70 pages

As the smoke cleared from 9-11, the West continue to be unsure of itself and is currently redesigning its own image in the world.  To the extent that Islam is intertwined as an opposing force with the Western self-image, the West has also to redesign Islam.  This is evident in the recent demonisation of Muslims.

“And what reason have you that you should not fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men and the women and the children, (of) those who say: Our Lord! Cause us to go forth from this town, whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us from Thee a helper.”
