The Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC), a London-based NGO established in 1997 in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, is conducting a survey of Muslim experiences of hate crimes and discrimination throughout the US state of California. PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE SURVEY AT THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS:
https://ihrc.org.uk/activities/projects/10015-muslim-experiences-usa-2012
This study is one of the first of its kind – we are trying to assess levels of hostility and discrimination against Muslims and those perceived to be Muslim, including hate crimes in different countries. By completing this questionnaire, you are contributing to the development of a model that can be regularly used to research and tackle this problem. This questionnaire is a way of tackling underreporting and providing regular statistics to governments or local authorities that can be used to understand the problems that Muslims face.
After successfully running the project last year in the UK and France, in 2012 this survey is being distributed across the US state of California, both as a hard copy at mosques, Islamic centres and community organisations, and online at the following address: https://ihrc.org.uk/activities/projects/10015-muslim-experiences-usa-2012
PLEASE PASS THE LINK TO YOUR CONTACTS ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED IT YOURSELF.
Those interested in volunteering to help us distribute and collect the survey in person, please contact project coordinator Mohammed Bushra at the following address: mohammed@ihrc.org.
For more information please contact IHRC on (+44) 20 8904 4222, email: mohammed@ihrc.org. [ENDS]
