Saeed Bahmanpour sets out the dilemma faced by most people who are faithful to God and at the same time want to make sure that the basic rights of human individuals are safeguarded.  He argues that the discourse of human rights has become ‘the religion of human rights’ taking on modalities of religion in a supposedly secular age.
